"I get a tremendous amount of personal satisfaction out of taking a raw piece of earth, developing a home on it and turning it over to a family that will enjoy living in it." Like a potter with clay, Bill thrives on the creative aspect of building. He enjoys his work and has honed his skills to achieve the high standards he sets for himself.
Bill's career began before college, where he worked with his father in the construction industry in a "hands on" capacity. The decision to go into homebuilding began after college, where he earned a degree in Construction Science. Since then, he worked in all aspects of construction, from foundation installation to finish carpentry. The fact that he has worked with each component himself gives him inside knowledge which enables him to direct sub-contractors efficiently." There is a difference between knowing how to interpret a blue print and executing the actual construction," says Bill. That's the benefit of experience.
Working for a major, national homebuilding corporation gave Bill experience from another perspective. The corporate environment introduced Bill to other aspects of construction: project management, budgetary parameters and quality control. These further developed Bill's management abilities.
An area of achievement that Bill is most proud of is that of Customer Satisfaction. It is a goal of Bill's to make homeowners a part of the process, a partner in the construction of their home. He works with them to ensure that their home is the one they have always dreamed of owning.”
